Festivals of Fort Wayne
Whether you’re visiting Fort Wayne, Indiana for the first time or you’ve lived there a few years, you may not have realized all the festivals held in this fair city. But if you’re looking for a good excuse to get out of the house then check out this list, put on your walking shoes, fire up the ADT Security and step outside for some of the best festivals of Fort Wayne.
1. BBQ RibFest – held in mid-June, this four-day event is the ultimate barbecue showcase featuring ribs, chili, vendors and musical performances.
2. Three Rivers Festival – usually attracting more than 400,000 attendees, this nine-day festival spans mid-July with more than 200 events including a food alley, hot dog eating contest, bed race and even an arts fair.
3. Greek Fest – this four-day event ends June typically in Headwaters Park and celebrates Fort Wayne’s local Greek population and heritage through song, music, dance and food.
4. Johnny Appleseed Festival – a two-day festival usually held on the third week of September at Johnny Appleseed Park, food and crafts are the norm with cultural re-enactments of the Johnny Appleseed story.
5. Germanfest – held in the first week of June, attendees can enjoy fine German cuisine, dancing and fashion.
